Terms of Service

These Terms outline the conditions for using the Maple Sky Works website and for commissioning gazebos or garden furniture from us. Please read them carefully before submitting an order.

Last updated: January 2026

01Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this website or engaging Maple Sky Works to design, build, or install a gazebo or piece of garden furniture, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use this website or submit a commission request.

02Description of Services

Maple Sky Works designs, builds, delivers, and installs solid maple garden gazebos, pergolas, and heavy wooden garden furniture. Services are provided based on a design consultation, a written quotation, and a build timeline agreed with the client prior to any work beginning. Product images and prices shown on this website are indicative and may vary based on final specification.

03Eligibility

Our services are intended for individuals who are at least eighteen years of age and who have legal authority over the property where a gazebo, pergola, or furniture set is to be installed. By submitting a commission request, you confirm that you meet these requirements or are acting on behalf of a party who does.

04Custom Orders and Commissions

Most commissions are custom-built to a client's garden dimensions and design preferences. A commission is confirmed only once both parties sign a written quotation, at which point:

  • A deposit, typically thirty percent of the quoted price, is due before timber is ordered or cut.
  • Design changes requested after timber has been cut may incur additional charges and extend the build timeline.
  • The remaining balance is due upon completion and prior to delivery, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

05Pricing and Payment

Prices quoted on this website are in Japanese yen and are subject to change without notice for products not yet ordered. Once a written quotation is issued for a specific commission, that price is held for thirty days. We accept bank transfer and other payment methods as agreed at the time of quotation. Late payment may result in delayed delivery or installation.

06Delivery and Installation

Delivery and installation dates provided during consultation are estimates based on current workshop capacity and timber availability, and are not guaranteed delivery dates. We will notify you promptly of any expected delay. Clients are responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable site access for our delivery and installation team on the agreed date.

07Warranties and Guarantees

Every commission is covered by our structural workmanship guarantee, which covers joinery and frame integrity under normal use and reasonable weather conditions. This guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, unauthorised modification, extreme weather events beyond typical seasonal conditions, or normal wear such as finish fading, which can be addressed through re-oiling as described in our care guidance.

08Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maple Sky Works' liability for any claim arising from a commission is limited to the amount paid for that specific commission. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of use of a garden space, except where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.

09Intellectual Property

All designs, drawings, photographs, and written content on this website are the property of Maple Sky Works unless otherwise stated. Design drawings prepared for a specific commission remain our intellectual property even after the commission is complete, though you retain the right to use them for maintenance and repair of your own structure.

10User Conduct

When using this website or communicating with our team, you agree not to submit false information, attempt to interfere with the website's normal operation, or use content from this site for commercial purposes without our written permission. We reserve the right to decline service to anyone who violates these conditions.

11Cancellations and Changes

You may cancel a commission before timber is ordered for a full refund of any deposit paid. Once timber has been ordered or cut specifically for your commission, cancellation may result in forfeiture of the deposit to cover material and labour costs already incurred. Requests to change specification after work has begun will be assessed case by case.

12Force Majeure

Maple Sky Works is not responsible for delays or failures in performance resulting from events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, timber supply disruption, or government restrictions. We will communicate any such delay as soon as reasonably possible and work with you to agree a revised timeline.

13Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising from these Terms or a commission agreement will first be addressed through good-faith discussion between the parties, and if unresolved, submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts having authority over Arakawa-ku, Tokyo.

14Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

15Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices or legal requirements. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of this website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
