This page explains how Maple Sky Works collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you visit this website or commission a gazebo or piece of furniture from us.

01Who We Are
Maple Sky Works ("we," "us," or "our") operates this website and provides woodworking commissions for garden gazebos and heavy wooden garden furniture. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you browse this website, submit an enquiry, or engage us for a commission. By using this website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.
02What You Share With Us
We collect information you provide directly to us, such as your name, phone number, email address, delivery address, and details about your garden or commission when you complete a contact form or communicate with our team. We also collect limited technical information automatically, including your device type, browser, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the pages you view on this site.
- Contact details: name, phone number, email address, and postal address for consultations, quotes, and deliveries.
- Commission details: garden dimensions, photographs, and design preferences you choose to share with us.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, collected via cookies described in Section 5.
- Communications: records of correspondence between you and our team, including enquiry forms and follow-up emails.
03How Your Details Are Used
We use the information we collect to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes and design proposals, schedule consultations and installations, process orders, and maintain records required for our workmanship guarantee. We may also use aggregated, non-identifying data to understand how visitors use this website and to improve its content and structure.
04Why We May Use Them
Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on your consent when you submit a contact form, our legitimate interest in operating and improving this website, the necessity of processing to perform a commission contract you have entered into with us, and compliance with legal obligations such as tax and accounting recordkeeping.
05Cookies on This Website
This website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate correctly, remember your preferences, and understand visitor behaviour. When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customize which categories you allow. Full detail on the categories we use and how to manage them is available in our Cookie Policy.
06Who Else Sees Your Details
Your name, address and garden measurements never leave the workshop as a product to be sold. They only travel as far as a gazebo needs to travel, and only to the people who handle it on the way, each bound to keep it confidential:
- Delivery and installation partners who need your address and site details to complete installation.
- Timber suppliers and subcontractors involved in fulfilling a specific commission, limited to details relevant to that order.
- Professional advisers such as accountants or legal counsel, where necessary for our business operations.
- Authorities where disclosure is required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
07How Long We Keep Records
We retain commission records, including design drawings and timber batch information, for the duration of our structural workmanship guarantee and for a reasonable period afterward to support any future repair requests. Contact form submissions that do not result in a commission are retained for up to twenty-four months before being deleted, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
08Keeping Records Safe
We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include restricting internal access to client records, using secure connections for website traffic, and reviewing our practices periodically. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
09Data Stored Outside Japan
Our workshop, records, and service providers are based in Japan, and personal information is generally processed within Japan. Where a service provider is located outside Japan, we take reasonable steps to ensure an equivalent level of protection is applied to your information, consistent with applicable data protection requirements.
10Your Choices and Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your information, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14 and we will respond within a reasonable time.
11Children
This website and our commissioning services are directed at adults and are not intended for children under sixteen. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
12Links to Other Websites
This website may contain links to third-party sites, such as those belonging to our timber suppliers or landscaping partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third-party sites, and we encourage you to review their own privacy policies before providing any personal information to them.
13When This Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
